Hubby asks me to spend a few minutes with him to go over the floor plan for converting the garage into an apartment.   I throw out the idea of having the bath closed off (of course) and having a nursery with walls and a door (instead of the walk-in closet originally planned) … and other than than – leaving the entire area open.   That way the kids can arrange furniture how they like and although there won’t be a separate bedroom and living area – it’s temporary and the kids will be just fine.

Hubby adamantly (reads … getting all frustrated) tells me that we can’t do that.   He says the area next to the bathroom will be a   huge walk-in closet and that it can’t change because after the kids  move out it’s going to be a wet-bar for his “man-room.”   He says he needs to run plumbing to the area and it just can’t be a nursery.

He continues to ask for my input on the room and I get flustered because  anything I say, he says we can’t do … that it ‘has’ to be this way or that way.   I ask ‘what, exactly, do you want my input on then?’   Seems what he wanted was for me to  get to the online site I used to lay out the floor plan (and if you ever  need something like that – search for Bassestt Room Planner – it’s awesome … you can add walls, windows – it has just about every size or piece of furniture you could want to drop in to your room.)

After an hour of messing around with this – hubby has a GREAT idea.   What about if we put the nursery where he had originally wanted the closet and then just left the rest of the area open?

Ummmm, ok.   GREAT idea.
